| Letter from Kleber
Orange of France to Jerry Orange which translates the baptism of Louys
Orange from old French to English. Received 8/07/2001.
You were justified in to require the patience in your last message. I
have received a response of the genealogical circle of the Yvelines
under the form of a detailed letter of the présidente and of a photocopy
of the act baptism Orange Louis. I suggest you to give me your address
for the sending of these two pieces.
Your ancestor was well surrounded at the time of his baptism and the act
deserve be exposed to the better place of your living room !!.......Bien
than not doùtant not than you will know to read it, I some indicate
below his container for you:
The Baptism reads:
" The 5th day of September 1662 was baptized born Louys of the 2nd day
of November native 1661 of the parroisse Gagny diocese of Paris sons of
honorable man Orange Jacques it one of the big varlets foot Roy and of
Quote Thomas his woman The very high and illustrious parrein Prince
Monseigneur the first Heir apparent son of the Roy holding and occupying
for his Highness MessireChevallier of Orders themselves his Majesté
Captain of guards body of the Reyne mother Governor and general
Lieutenant for his Majesté of cities chastiaux and springs Saumur The
very high and powerful marreine princess Anne Morice d'Autriche
End of translation:
" Your ancestor is therefore born to Gagny (near city but dependent on
the new department of The Holy Seine Denis). Maybe we can find in the
microfilm of this city, the birth certificate Louis and with a little
luck the marriage of its parents. I will take soon contact with the
office of archives Holy Seine Denis.
To this era, the baptisms took place the very day, sometimes the next
day. Louis has vraisemblement been baptized to Gagny under this delay
and a grandiose, official baptism, has taken place ten months later.
If you desire to address a small word of thanks to the présidente of the
circle généalogie Yvelines in French or English language (I do it myself
of my side), here his address. Madam Nicole Dreneau, genealogical circle
of Versailles and Yvelines, B.P.623 78006 Versailles Cedex. I will
address you under another mail the line of my ancestors.
Friendly Kléber
