Orange was
born in about 1581 in Bolbec, Seine-Maritime, Haute-Normandie,
France. He died in the same location about November 1621; the
death note said he was the “eldest resident of Bolbec”. Jean married
in about 1607 in Lintot, France to Jeanne Gilles, born about 1685, location
unknown, death date and location unknown. They had six children
including my ancestor; Abraham Orange. It seems everyone
lived in Bolbec and travelled the few miles to Lintot, France where they held
their Protestant worship. It was called Lintot’s temple,
where the christenings and record keeping were done, because Protestants were
not allowed to have churches[v].
